and history
Women, horses
In 1945 in a small town in Germany, my father, First Lieutenant Bernard Rabinowitz (93rd Chemical Mortar Battalion) accepted a hand-made American flag from DP's (displaced persons)who had been enslaved by the Nazis. They made this flag for my father to honor his exemplary and just governance at the end of World War ll-and just before my father was about to be re-deployed for an invasion of Japan. In honor of Bay, and all other veterans and fathers, I am carrying this flag with the help of my friend Ollie the Quarterhorse-acknowledging both human and animal service for the greater good.

A dedication to horses and the incredible role they have played throughout history!
Tie the strings to my life, my Lord,
Then I am ready to go! Just a look at the horses- Rapid! that will do!

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
